If it happens - a big if - it does so naturally, and perhaps nobody knows that better than Band of Horses, whose landmark debut Everything All The Time still, after twenty years, feels as vital and, dare we say, transcendent as when it came out in 2006.

Guitarist/vocalist Ben Bridwell formed Band of Horses in Seattle in 2004, after the end of his nearly ten-year run in northwest melancholic darlings Carissa’s Wierd. Carissa’s Wierd trafficked in beautiful orchestral pop, whose songs told unflinching stories of heartbreak and loss, leavened with defeatist humor. Band of Horses rose from the ashes of that well-loved band, buoyed by Bridwell’s warm, reverb-heavy vocals, and woodsy, dreamy songs oozing with tension, longing and hope. Armed with a fresh Sub Pop deal and a smashing batch of songs, the band recorded their debut full-length, Everything All the Time, with producer Phil Ek at Seattle’s Avast studios.

At times raggedly epic (“The Great Salt Lake”) and delicately pensive (“St. Augustine,” “Monsters”), Everything All The Time is an album painted gorgeously in fragile highs and lows. That’s part of the genius in Band of Horses: they craft intelligent, classic movements within their songs, perfectly balancing desperation and hope, calmness and mania, love and fear. And of course there’s the massive single, “The Funeral,” which became a defining song of the era, and continues to inspire new generations of fans and artists alike. On top of tons of film and TV placements, the song was sampled by Kid Cudi, and transformed into a 2025 dance edit by acclaimed producer/multi-instrumentalist Gryffin.

Now, on the occasion of the 20th birthday of the album, Sub Pop and Band of Horses present the definitive snapshot of the band circa Everything All The Time. For this anniversary release, the album has been fully remastered, with the artwork refreshed and expanded into a gatefold jacket with liner notes by Phil Ek. And the album is accompanied by an additional LP of bonus tracks, including the 2005 tour EP, a trove of previously unreleased studio and live tracks, and rarities like “The End’s Not Near” (as featured on The O.C.) and a demo version of “The Funeral.”

Tracklisting:
1.The First Song
2.Wicked Gil
3.Our Swords
4.The Funeral
5.Part One
6.The Great Salt Lake
7.Weed Party
8.I Go to the Barn Because I Like The Barn
9.Mons
10.St. Augustine
11.(Biding Time Is A) Boat To Row
12.Part Two
13.Coal Mine
14.Worry Song
15.The End's Not Near
16.The Funeral (Demo Version)
17.Wicked Gil (Demo Version)
18.Our Swords (Demo Version)
19.I Go to the Barn Because I Like The / Monsters (Live at The Crocodile)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0378/1623/8217/files/BandOfHorses_EverythingAllTheTime_20th_Mockup_LP_EU_2000x2000_1.jpg?v=1768581318
snail-mail-ricochet
Snail Mail - Ricochet

Due for release 27th March 2026 via Matador

CD / Std Black LP / Indies Red Vinyl

Snail Mail — the project of Lindsey Jordan — announces her highly anticipated third album, Ricochet, due out March 27 on Matador Records. Her first album in five years, she returns with a renewed sense of clarity and control, asserting herself as a generational songwriter with a sharpened perspective. While her early work chronicled the emotional turbulence of young love, Ricochet reveals a deeper fixation: time, mortality, and the quiet terror of watching the things you love slip away. The album’s 11 songs are steeped in introspection, anxiety, and acceptance — an acknowledgment that the world keeps turning regardless of what’s unfolding in your own small orbit.

Written during a period of intense personal change that included a move to North Carolina from NYC, Ricochet finds Jordan reckoning with questions she once avoided, namely death and what comes after. The album pairs her incisive lyricism with newly expansive melodies, ornate string arrangements, and hypnotic textures, marking a natural evolution from Lush’s poised guitar work and Valentine’s raw emotional charge. Sonically, Ricochet channels the luminous side of ’90s alternative rock — echoing Smashing Pumpkins at their sunniest, Radiohead at their most Britpop, and the shoegaze haze of bands like Catherine Wheel and Ivy — all filtered through Jordan’s singular voice.

After undergoing surgery for vocal polyps and intensive speech therapy ahead of 2021’s Valentine tour, Jordan emerges on Ricochet as a more confident and controlled vocalist — an ironic strength for an album centered on uncertainty. She recorded the album with producer and bassist Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma) at Fidelitorium Recordings in North Carolina, as well as Nightfly and Studio G in Brooklyn. The sessions, Jordan says, felt “refreshing, trusting, and comfortable,” allowing her to fully inhabit the songs without compromise.

The album also marks a departure in Jordan's creative process. "I've never done this before, but I wrote all of the instrumentals and vocal melodies on the piano or guitar, and then I filled in the lyrics all at once over a year," she explains. This shift gave her more time to craft the expansive melodies that define Ricochet's sound

The album’s lyrical world is informed by art that grapples with existence itself. Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York looms large, while tracks like ‘Nowhere’ draw inspiration from Laura Gilpin’s poem “The Two-Headed Calf.” On ‘My Maker’, Jordan imagines overstaying her welcome at a celestial airport bar, pleading, “Oh, bouncer in the sky / Let me in, I’m scared to die.” Elsewhere, Ricochet mourns fading friendships, lost simplicity, and the ache of emotional distance — a record about being anxious not over the bad, but over how fleeting the good can be.

The album’s artwork mirrors its themes. Ricochet is the first Snail Mail release not to feature Jordan’s face; instead, a spiral shell floats in a distressed blue expanse, symbolizing both inward collapse and outward infinity — the push and pull of growth, distance, and perspective.

Tracklisting
1. Tractor Beam
2. My Maker
3. Light On Our Feet
4. Cruise
5. Agony Freak
6. Dead End
7. Butterfly
8. Nowhere
9. Hell
10. Ricochet
11. Reverie

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0378/1623/8217/files/86905bcf-68d8-7a67-be01-3557bc81305e.jpg?v=1768832001
the-cure-boys-dont-cry-86-mix
The Cure - Boys Don't Cry (86 Mix)

CD due for release 30th January 2026
12" due for release TUESDAY 21st April 2026

The Cure are to release the 1986 mix of Boys Don’t Cry, making it available digitally for the first time ever in line with its 40th Anniversary. As she explains: “It doesn’t happen often that I’m asked to work on a film by a director whose work I know so well and which resonates with me so naturally. What I understood while working with such an intriguing mind and intelligent artist as Joachim is that the role of a film composer is to wander along with the director, hand in hand, rather than follow one another. The collaboration should be a partnership - evenly balanced and able to invigorate people on both ends - otherwise it will always feel superficial, imposed, and timid”

Intriguingly Hania worked on the score for Sentimental Value without an edit in hand; instead, she was given a carefully written script and the freedom of her own substantial imagination. “This way of composing suits me perfectly, as I’m not the type of composer who works comfortably with particular scenes, slightly immune to functionality in music in general. I prefer to ponder sound in separation from the image. It enables me to fabricate more abstract sequences that are not yet expressed in the film and to bring a new context to the existing narrative. Music as an inherent counterpoint - this sounds more intriguing to me”.

For Hania the biggest challenge of the score was its gravity - or rather its visibly elusive nature. The story told in the film oscillates around three characters and the motionless presence of the house, yet the relationships between all these personalities are not fixed, but in progress. Those subtle qualities were at the center of her attention and became the core topic of numerous discussions with Joachim about the music, the film, and the philosophy behind Sentimental Value. “I wondered how to express such translucent virtues in this score; that’s why a great deal of the process was embedded in exercises of mediation and translation. In order to avoid directness, I decided to impure the sound with a succession of small sonic gestures - whether re-arranging, re-orchestrating, revisiting, stretching the duration, or simply recording in a new acoustic environment. The mediated sound and expression allowed me to model a soundscape that inhabits both the old and the new, much like the house, which holds within itself the past, present, and future”.

In September 2024, Hania went to Oslo and spent a couple of days in the main film (the family home in Oslo) with her sound engineer, Agata Dankowska. The film crew was away in France to shoot another scene for the project, so they were allowed to freely explore the space - both visually and sonically. They made field recordings in the building, capturing the sounds of objects and furniture found in the apartment, and they also managed to record a couple of piano pieces. The house plays a significant role in the story, silently witnessing the tangled trajectories of its residents. “To explore its interiors so closely inevitably reminded me of getting to know a real person, with all their vulnerable parts and secrets. And although most of the recordings were not supposed to become part of the final soundtrack, I felt that this visit gave me access to another, far more intimate layer of the film, which immensely informed my composing process afterwards and reshaped my relationship with the project. There was a real sense of immediacy that felt exciting, instinctive, and simply incredibly special.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0378/1623/8217/files/Hania_Rani_-_Sentimental_Value_-_GONDLP82_-_Packshot.jpg?v=1769683516
cigarettes-after-sex-anna-karenina
Cigarettes After Sex - Anna Karenina

Due for Release 17th April 2026 via Partisan Records

7"

Cigarettes After Sex return with a double single that showcases both their future and their past. These were heady days when the amount of sheer talent walking into the Rough Trade universe was simply overwhelming. The accomplishments and influence of these two artists in the world of independent music cannot be overstated and the result of their artistic union is a startlingly cohesive statement that burns through landscapes of primitive outsider rock, avant-garde composition, progressive ambient and further locales boldly and beautifully unnamable.

“Kramer and I reconnected in Miami, Florida, a few years back, many many years after each of us had departed NYC on separate life adventures. It was only a matter of time before Kramer and I started making plans to record together and with his irrepressible due diligence he quickly set up a mobile recording contraption in the pad I was decamped in, the Florida sunshine flowing through the palm leaves, lithe lizards skittering across the windowsills, and we just went for it. Kramer had the idea to cover a Joy Division tune, a left turn from the improvisations we had been tracking, though wholly in keeping with both our sensibilities of light and dark unifying in transcendent songwriting, both of us devotees of 'the song' as well as 'the freedom.’ What transpired is They Came Like Swallows, a session we immediately felt should exist as a prayer to the war-torn souls of the families of Palestine continually decimated by the brutality of genocide. We agreed beyond words to offer our music as a sonic activism and as a beneficent energy. This album is our duo exchange for human dignity, it is our soul music for any semblance of a peaceful planet.”
~ Thurston Moore

“For the first time in our nearly 45 years of friendship, we had identical time windows open to make a record together,” recounts Kramer. After all this time not a moment is wasted as the duo immediately taps into the heightened core of improvisational tension across these seven offerings. Volcanic opener “Urn Burial” notches a similar historic union (John Cale and Terry Riley) to meet the circumstances of the moment, with swirling mists of organ and pounding toms over guitar that thickens the atmosphere with jagged, grimy dissonance. Solemn strings open the second track, “The Redness In The West,” with Kramer’s cello and viola in dueling bow beneath the high tension drive and sustain of Thurston’s electric guitar, tapping out a Morse code of tension that mounts endlessly into a fog of inevitable war by the end.
Moore and Kramer’s sense of experimentalism is in free and full grandeur throughout They Came Like Swallows, though the duo keep a strong and constant sideways eye on melody, composition and architecture, to the ends that any strict lines between song and improvisation are blurred beyond qualification. As if to punctuate this point, Swallows closes with a nightwork cover of Joy Division’s “Insight,” a doleful coda that breathes out with a solemn inner grace under Thurston’s instantly stylistically recognizable guitar melodies as they weave into he and Kramer’s unison voices. As the lone vocal piece and only traditional ‘song’ form on the album, “Insight” is unique to this set and as a closing statement draws connective lines back to the kind of dynamic, electrified melodicism that wove deep, melancholy patterns into the untamed fire of Sonic Youth’s Sister and Daydream Nation. In the album’s final moments, the two voices repeat the lyric “I’m not afraid anymore” as mantra, underscoring the heavy, unsettled themes and methods that preceded it.

Kramer describes the creative process of They Came Like Swallows: “I had composed and recorded a few pieces at my home studio over the course of a couple weeks. Thurston was spending the winter in South Florida, so I flew down and spent a few days recording his guitar parts in his home there. Watching him spontaneously compose his parts was pretty astonishing, to say the least. Once we'd finished working on those pieces, we began improvising and following wherever the music pointed us, and another few pieces were born. We got straight to it, without anything driving us other than the joy of finally working together. My personal goal was to remain present and catch as many surprises as I could from Thurston's guitar work, and there were plenty during those few days. We had a fucking blast.”

Thurston’s contributions here will be readily familiar to any acolytes of his other works, the through-line between his inspired playing, cradled in Kramer’s meticulous, solid arrangements. “If I had to make this record again, I'd do it all exactly the same way,” Kramer says. “It’s like jazz, you don't think about it. You just do it. It was miraculous, and you don't fuck with a miracle.”

Due for release 1st May 2026 via Strangetown

CD / LP (Red Vinyl + CD)

To coincide with the start of Super Furry Animals’ string of dates this summer the band are releasing a LP of out of print rarities on limited edition coloured vinyl.

Super Furry Animals also recently announced additional festival dates to follow their sold out Supacabra Tour dates including stops in Llangollen, Bristol, York, Glasgow and London (their first since late 2016. Produced with the aid of several musicians in several studios, the album features songs written for the fabled second Strawberry Switchblade album. The innate sadness of the songs’ content – the loss of a friendship, impending sorrow – is heightened to heart-melting level by McDowall’s pop nous and melodic sensibility. Choruses and hooks are everywhere on Cake Knife, from the outsider take on stadium 80s pop in Wings Of Heaven to the spiraling, ecstatic So Vicious, a glorious anthem that highlights the human fragility in McDowall’s vocal performance, an instrument that has never lost the naïve purity it first exemplified in Strawberry Switchblade’s early 80s recordings. The centerpiece of the album, the title-track, is the greatest Switchblade pop chart hit that never was. Like the veiled melancholy of her former group’s hits, Cut With The Cake Knife hints at a darkness beneath the gloss, a darkness that saw McDowall delve into more esoteric territory with her subsequent recordings and collaborations. Cut With The Cake Knife serves as the bridge between the pop music McDowall had been making with her friends Jill Bryson, Lawrence from Felt and Primal Scream to what became a more extreme, deep sound informed by neo-folk and post industrial music.

Rose McDowall’s role in the canon has always been one of an outsider. Unseen to many, her solo work, her groups Sorrow and Spell and her collaborations with a whole host of underground luminaries have still touched lives. As McDowall elucidates: “They're real sad songs, about real life. I've had people come up to me to say I'd connected with them and helped them. I connected a lot with his music and I had no idea that years later we would be collaborating! It was a total surprise that we started chatting on the internet of collaborating! — we bounced ideas back and forth, all starting with a series of guitar solo stuff that Bill sent me. I had a great time with the pieces and in some of them had the honor to collaborate with I. La Catolica in the studio here in Mexico as well where we were trying to decipher the harmonic possibilities of Bill’s ideas and very carefully develop some good melodies that followed correctly the guitar. The vocal melodies followed also the same principle of trying to get tight with Bill’s initiatives. The idea was to leave a lot of space but in only one of the tracks I just went on with the idea of harmonizing shamelessly the vocals. The album ended up having this nostalgic vibe to it. The propulsive new track “Grazer” comes on the heels of an enviable last year for the five-piece, with highlights that include a spot in the latest NME 100 list, showcase performances at The Great Escape’s First Fifty for NOTION, DORK 100 (alongside Lime Garden), and The Line Of Best Fit’s Five Day Forecast. All of this is on top of a packed-out UK tour with THUS LOVE and shows with the likes of The Belair Lip Bombs, The Hold Steady, Thistle, Sunflower Bean, and a sold-out headline London date.

“Grazer” also follows an immaculate run of five singles which have seen the band deliver on all the promise of their early word-of-mouth live reputation, earning widespread support that includes a digital cover with Dork, and props from the likes of Stereogum, Consequence, Under The Radar, NME, CLASH, DIY, The Line Of Best Fit, Paste, and So Young, as well as radio play from BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio X, Apple Music 1 and more. These singles, alongside “Grazer”, will now form a six track EP titled How They Faked The Moon Landing. The one-stop introductory release will be landing on 12” vinyl on 22nd May via Fear Of Missing Out Records, as one of DINKED’s Early Doors Editions.

Recorded with Ali Chant (Dry Cleaning, Yard Act, Sorry), the sub-3-minute new single epitomises everything that has brought Ain’t to this point. It’s full of warm, slurring guitar lines, hooky vocal harmonies, subtly intricate drumming, fluid bass, and contemplative lyrics. In keeping with their earlier material there are knowing nods to idiosyncratic guitar music and 90s slacker indie with hints of shoegaze, Midwest rock, and lo-fi, atmospheric dream pop.

How They Faked The Moon Landing rounds off an incendiary start for Ain’t, start being the operative word. With more music planned for 2026 and a slew of headline dates and festival appearances at 2000trees, The Great Escape, Ritual Union, and more, the new single and EP act less as a rounding off and more as a primer for what’s yet to come.

Recommended if you like - Wednesday, Dry Cleaning, Mannequin Pussy, Porridge Radio, Hank, Man/Woman/Chainsaw

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0378/1623/8217/files/ED09_Thumb_0f66a9e0-01c8-4b80-926f-6f3909f44801.jpg?v=1773849246
future-islands-from-a-hole-in-the-floor-to-a-fountain-of-youth
Future Islands - From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth

Due for release 22nd May 2026 via 4AD

CD / Ltd Blue & Apricot 2LP

Over the past twenty years Future Islands have travelled a rare arc, from promising newcomers to best-kept secret, from cult favourites to heroes of the genre. Twenty songs for twenty years, four members of the band, four sides of vinyl. It’s the dream and the reality existing in the same room.” A well-known Tennessee Williams quote talks of this kind of duration - “time is the longest distance between two places.” It is time that really separates the floor from the fountain.

Yes, Future Islands can wow and dazzle, but this release is about something else, something understated and more profound. “This is for everyone who has carried these songs with them, from the first house parties to the rooms we’re playing today,” explains Cashion.

Tracklisting:
1. For some people, Picking Petals will be a coming-of-age album. For Lucia & The Best Boys, it’s just coming home.

Most musicians face a crossroads at some point in their careers. Lucia Fairfull faced hers before she was even a teenager. Up until then, afternoons were spent pirouetting and pliéing through dance school. Music moved through her body. Performances were physical and instinctive. But when she was 11, a car accident left her with a broken leg, and her dancing stopped abruptly. Life slowed. School fell away for a year. In the quiet of a small Scottish village, she recovered at home as her family rallied around her.

With long stretches of time to herself, she noticed her mum’s old guitar propped up in the house. She began to play. The accident didn’t end her relationship with music; it turned it inward. The shift to songwriter didn’t come easily, though. Her confidence was shaken, and she developed debilitating stage fright. “I’d do school shows, and I would pass out,” she admits. Still, the pull of making music around other people was strong. A few years on, Fairfull found herself in the car with her parents, heading to Glasgow, determined to face the fear head-on. “My dad said, ‘If you’re gonna busk, you have to do it every weekend, like it’s a job.’”

Fairfull took that advice seriously. For nearly two decades, she has applied the same mentality to carving out her place as an artist in the UK indie scene. Her latest record, Picking Petals, is the culmination of that hard graft and bold vision — an album rooted in her Scottish upbringing and shaped by the creative community she has built around her in Glasgow and beyond.
But first came the city circuit. With Buchanan and Sauchiehall Street as her formative stages, she plucked at her acoustic guitar and learned to perform in public. At 16, she was recording with Echo and the Bunnymen’s Gordy Goudie after her guitar teacher shared a few of her songs. Goudie recognised not just the talent, but the hunger behind it. “I didn’t want to do anything else when I was younger,” she insists.

Propelled by that early endorsement, Fairfull assembled a line-up of collaborators to form Lucia & The Best Boys (a nod to one of her early solo EPs, Best Boy), and the scale of her performances quickly accelerated. She found herself opening for The Bay City Rollers at Barrowlands Ballroom when she was just 17 — a room her grandparents once danced in together — before supporting The Big Moon at Glasgow’s infamous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.

Just as Lucia & The Best Boys’ early showcases were gathering momentum, the pandemic brought tours to a halt and closed live venues across the UK. Suddenly, songs once written for sweaty throngs and flailing arms had to be reconsidered in isolation. Her debut, Burning Castles, was streamlined and statuesque, built on metronomic beats and synth-led pop. Even so, Fairfull was conscious of its restless energy, wrestling with how to capture such a defining decade. “That first album was written between the time I was 22 until I was 25,” she says. “It was hard to squeeze in four years of my life where I’d probably been four different versions of myself.”

Still, the instinct to keep moving — even slowly — remained. “I knew I had to find a way through this,” she says. “I needed to adapt.” The intention behind sophomore record, Picking Petals, sharpened into focus. This time, it was crucial to capture the essence of Lucia & The Best Boys’ live shows— loud and electric. “We were robbed of that opportunity last time,” she says, thinking back to the debut. Fairfull has long spoken of Stevie Nicks as a guiding presence in her musical life. On Picking Petals, she steps more decisively into her own space — one shaped by a lineage of performers who command the stage without apology.

In recent years, Fairfull has shared bills with a new wave of women embodying that legacy in real time: joining Wolf Alice on their Blue Weekend tour in 2022 and, more recently, opening for folkloric fivesome, The Last Dinner Party. In summer 2024, she toured alongside fellow Scottish icon Shirley Manson on the UK and European leg of Garbage’s live shows. The cross-generational symmetry isn’t lost on her. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt as seen as I did with Shirley. We see each other in ourselves.”
The Scottish synchronicity feels poignant. This rich and historical landscape is where we find Fairfull starting work on Picking Petals, heading north to write in weather-beaten bothies alongside the band or in solitude. Likewise, the songwriter was insistent that acclaimed alt-pop producer Yves Rothman experience her stomping ground rather than sundrenched LA, hunkering down in Mogwai’s Castle of Doom studios, a Glasgow townhouse transformed into a citadel of sound.

That sense of flux carried into the songwriting process. The pressure to perform was palpable. In the past, Fairfull struggled to find her clan, feeling torn between her vision and the demands and expectations of others. “I couldn't get people to understand fully what it was that I was trying to make, or find my place in the industry,” she explains. As soon as she entered the space, though, those homegrown stories flowed as freely as Robert Burns’ Bruar stream.

“I went into the room, and I was really nervous thinking, ‘What if my creative brain isn’t switched on?’” she says, recalling her first encounter with Rothman at the city studio. She wrings her tattooed hands before placing palms on the table. Her fingers spell out the word, ‘SHOWGIRL’. She needn’t have worried. “Within two days, we’d written the opening track on the album.”

‘Back Inside My Heart’ is a bold, synth-fuelled, fist-pumping anthem, sitting effortlessly alongside lead single ‘Lonely Girl', a three-minute snapshot of longing and growth. Guest vocalist on the track, Lauren Mayberry, who also moved from the villages of Stirlingshire to global stages, shares in that narrative. As the former CHVRCHES frontperson sings, “They say you’ll need to move away to live your dreams…Where I thrive is where I am / Yeah, I don’t need to leave.”

Both women know what it is to shapeshift and present as performers, and as their Celtic vowels connect, a deep-rooted affinity is clear. A shared space of belonging. “When CHVRCHES first came about. I worked at Forever 21. ‘The Mother, We Share’ was on the store playlist every day, and I was like, 'She's singing in a Scottish accent!’”

For Fairfull, ‘Lonely Girl’ is an ode to seeking out that community, those formative friendships that help you navigate life. “You're going through so many different things, and the one thing that you need is community. I want people not to feel alone. When younger girls come to gigs, they look at you, and they think, 'Oh, she's this, and she's that,’” she says, acutely aware that others might see a more polished, pop-produced ensemble. But gazing out of the bay window of her stone tenement flat in Glasgow’s West End, Fairfull is still that lonely girl from Drymen desperate to start living. "Hen, you need to know that I was there as well!"

The struggle is documented vividly in the trad-leaning ‘You Look Like Somebody In Love’ which dances with bothy bar violins, regret and longing, as Fairfull sings, “Between all the pictures / I took of sunsets / are ones I took of you / I’ve been in so deep / The hill is steep / But I’ll climb it for the view.” While ‘Better For The Worse’ carries echoes of Florence and the Machine’s ‘Dog Days’, with sparkling octave mandolin that finds our brooding balladeer stomping through rainy city streets, hoping for redemption.

Heartfelt connections weave through the rest of the record like a homespun friendship bracelet. In the baroque pop-infused ‘Big Romance’, The Last Dinner Party frontwoman Abigail Morris appears on vocal duties, fitting for a track that the Brit Award winner was adamant should make the record. “She's the one who pushed me to keep going with that song. I started writing that when I was 22. It's lived through so many different lives.”

Like Morris’s steadfast belief, the friends have been a constant, on stage and off. Before she was in The Last Dinner Party, Morris played a few Scottish dates on keyboards for Lucia & The Best Boys, and that’s a precious synergy as Fairfull explains. “Being able to share these experiences with other women who understand where you're at, what you're doing, it's really empowering.”

This idea of persistence appears again in title track ‘Picking Petals’, a song that yearns for acceptance with Haim sister-style staccato delivery in the marching middle eight and a soaring solo to match. Fairfull paints a picture of a wilting thistle turning black, unfurling the rawer parts of herself as she comes out the other side of a decade of self-discovery. “I've always been the songwriter, but this process opened up a heartwarming universe where it felt safe to lay out the darker and more playful pieces of myself.”

Because from the moment Fairfull hit that crossroads, put down her dance shoes, and tentatively picked up the guitar, the seeds were sown for the making of this album. She’s sure of it. “I wasn't meant to do anything else. It would have happened one way or another.” For some people, Picking Petals will be a coming-of-age album. Rooted in his personal touchstones within electronic music, the album pairs expansive, immersive production with his trademark razor-sharp lyricism.

Where his debut had been a solo endeavour, Decoding Birdsong brims with collaboration, including Australia’s Pretty Girl, London band Los Bitchos, and Bristol producer 1-800 GIRLS, as well as Imogen and the Knife and indie pop star Ellur. Speaking about the new record, Antony explains “Decoding Birdsong is about choosing to believe in something. Coincidence as a religion. Making your own luck in the face of loneliness and doubt. The smallest things can feel seminal, seismic and life affirming if you just choose to lean in, but it also asks if this is a dangerous way to live. What happens when your numbers come in? What are the consequences of luck? Should you listen to the birds, or are you only ever going to hear what you want to hear? To help us explore this: a heron, dice, a plummeting airplane, the late-night TV show Aussie Gold Hunters and a fibreglass replica of Godzilla.”

Decoding Birdsong follows the wild success of his debut album, 2025’s Service Station at the End of the Universe, which launched Antony into a whirlwind of Glastonbury, Jools Holland, and repeat BBC airplay. He’s sold out venues across the UK and Europe, and in February 2026 performed to 20,000 while closing Solomun’s Alexandra Palace shows. The former English teacher had been working at a college for special needs students when his blend of spoken word and dance music started taking off, earning him accolades such as 6Music’s Artist of the Year in 2023 following his Poems To Dance To EP, and frequent comparisons to Mike Skinner, Jarvis Cocker and John Cooper Clarke.

For fans of The Streets / Getdown Services / Jarvis Cocker / Real Lies / Good Health Good Wealth / 1-800 GIRLS

Due for release 21st August 2026 via London Records Ltd

2CD / 4CD Bookset / 1LP Black Vinyl / 1LP Red Vinyl / 5LP Box / Ltd Dinked Archive Edition No. 32 LP

Dinked Archive Edition features:
Yellow + blue split colour vinyl
12” x 12” print
Dinked Archive obi-strip & gold foil sticker
Numbered edition
Limited pressing of 1000

5LP Box - 60-page hardback book, Black vinyl, Printed labels, Printed inners, Slipcase, A2 poster + Slipmat

Originally released in 1990 by Happy Mondays, Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches captured the chaotic, euphoric spirit of the Madchester movement, blending indie rock, acid house rhythms and funk grooves into a sound that helped reshape British alternative music. She got Al Green’s guitarist and songwriting partner Mabon “Teenie” Hodges to play guitar on the whole album (Teenie co-wrote “Love and Happiness” and “Take Me to the River,” among other soul classics). With Teenie came his Hi Rhythm bandmate (and brother) Leroy “Flick”Hodges, who plays on half of the album (Memphis A-team bassist Dave Smith supplements). Anchoring the band is Steve Potts, whose reputation on drums was solidified when the surviving members of Booker T. and the MG’s asked him to replace their late drummer, Al Jackson. Other top Memphis musicians guest on key-boards, horns and strings. Cat Power went right to the sources, and created her own paean to the songs and styles she grew up on.

The Greatest adds to Cat Power’s singular sound all the elements that make an Al Green record great: Memphis horns, funky string arrangements, smooth background vocals. “Lived in Bars” is a hypnotic song that seems to start in the middle of the night and flow backward like water upstream to the source of a good time. Many songs hearken back to earlier in Cat Power’s career, like the surface simplicity of “Willie”—much more complicated upon deeper listen—and like “Where Is My Love,”which sounds like it could be the first song she ever wrote, and also the one to which she has always aspired. “Living Proof,” on the other hand, has an almost gospel-like swing that stands in contrast to the quieter songs. The ethereal title track is the missing link between Big Star3rd and the 21st century.

Tracklisting:

A1: The Greatest
A2: Living Proof
A3: Lived in Bars
A4: Could We
A5: Empty Shell
A6: Willie
B1: Where Is My Love
B2: The Moon
B3: Islands
B4: After It All
B5: Hate
B6: Love & Communication
B7: Up And Gone

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0378/1623/8217/files/ece23dd2-454a-15ba-96cb-9b6df5a87ca2.jpg?v=1778066035
devil-wears-prada-2-ost
Various - The Devil Wears Prada 2 OST

Due for Release 31st July 2026 via Interscope

CD / LP

10 years after the original, The Devil Wears Prada 2 picks up in a new era of fashion, ambition, and shifting power—where old rivalries resurface and the runway is fiercer than ever. Sparked by a late-night radio encounter with an unidentified gospel recording, Wagner fell deep into the world of "lined out singing" a centuries-old Scots-Appalachian call-and-response tradition in which a lone clerk leads a choir through hymns, word by unadorned word. That spirit of raw, communal voice shapes every moment of Punching the Clown: Wagner spent years studying great songwriters and relearning his craft from the ground up, whittling dozens of songs down to twelve. Recorded in three days with guitarist Andrew Broder, Justin Vernon on banjo, and a six-part choir assembled by Blake Morgan and engineered by Lambchop veteran Mark Nevers, the album is graceful, wry, and quietly devastating. We thought it was interesting to think about the ways in which something as straightforward as dying can be difficult. It’s also about clinging on to feelings that comfort you but aren’t necessarily healthy.” Like much of ‘Massive Champion’, it finds catharsis in contradiction, meeting often heavy subject matter with both candour and humour.

A triumph of hard work and the grassroots scene, Getdown Services jokingly coined themselves Britain’s Best Band. With ‘Massive Champion’, it feels less like a punchline and more like a statement of intent. As their audience continues to grow exponentially both at home and across the world, they look every bit on a fast track to becoming one of the country’s biggest and most vital bands. Joyous and utterly singular, ‘Massive Champion’ feels set to soundtrack the year ahead and, very likely, many more to come.

For fans of The Streets, Sleaford Mods, Big Special, Yard Act, Pulp, Antony Szmierek

Due for release 16th October 2026 via Matador

CD / 2LP

Teen of Denial: Joe’s Story is a freshly reimagined take on Car Seat Headrest’s beloved breakout, Teens of Denial, now celebrating its 10th anniversary.

On the original album, Toledo often used the name “Joe” as a pseudonym – a sly homage to Daniel Johnston. Revisiting Teens in the run-up to its 10th birthday, he felt called to give Joe a unique backstory and began tweaking the album to tell that tale. The group returned to the studio with Teens producer Steve Fisk to update accordingly – tweaking lyrics, revising arrangements, and recording new songs in the “Denial-style,” including ‘Optimistic Son” and the anthemic ‘Joe Drives Again’. The result retains Teens’ dark edge and youthful cynicism, but allows a bit of hard-won compassion into the mix.

From Will Toledo:
Sometime last year, it was suggested to me that we do something for the ten-year anniversary of ‘Teens of Denial,’ so I started looking back on the album to see what we might do. In spite of some of its songs being a regular part of my life for the past decade, it wasn’t a record I’d thought much about as a whole since it came out. Most of the songs I’d come up with over a two-year period at the end of my college days, when I was struggling a lot with cynicism and misplaced aggression. But by the time the songs were done, I was living in Washington, Car Seat Headrest was a full band with a record label, and in spite of the turmoil of the writing process, the final album was pretty enjoyable for everyone to work on.

This time, looking back at the songs, I started to feel like there was a story being told through the album, though I’d never imagined it as being a narrative work. On ‘Hi, How Are You?’ Daniel Johnston had used the name “Joe” in the titles of a few tracks –“No More Pushing Joe Around,” “Keep Punching Joe” – as a sort of joke, a stand-in for himself. I borrowed the idea, and the name, for titling songs on ‘Denial.’ This time, I started thinking - who is Joe? And how do the songs, in the way they’re sequenced on the album, reflect what he’s going through? As I started asking this question, a story emerged with startling wholeness and clarity, like finding the foundations of an ancient city while digging in my backyard. As I kept digging, certain songs from the original album fell by the wayside, as they seemed misplaced in this new context; others asked for new lyrics, to fully give birth to the story contained in the music.

The resulting work feels more like the album ‘Teens of Denial’ was meant to be. When you’re writing from a dark space, it’s hard to have perspective on where you’re at. This time, I could pull from memories of that darkness, and use the distance and additional perspective of ten years of life to shed a fuller light on the experience. Joe is a character going through some of what I experienced, and some of his own problems. Telling his story, and not just my own impressions of life at the end of the teen years, brought a new level of compassion and wholeness to the album. It gave us the opportunity to write new material in “Denial style”, embracing a snappy and simple(ish) rock aesthetic, and in an additional blessing, we were able to team up once with Steve Fisk, a joy and inspiration to get back into the studio with after ten years. We mixed the material at his house in Tacoma, and were constantly amazed at the lack of divide between past and present, as we’d punch in vocal overdubs ten years later into the same gear, hearing my voice now running alongside a 2015 Will. For someone coming across this album or this band for the first time, this is how they’d hear the record, not as a relic of the past but as a new piece. It was immensely rewarding to experience that on our side.

For anyone familiar with ‘Teens,’ comparisons with the original will be inevitable, but I do hope that as much as possible, people can come to this album on its own terms, approaching it as a teen, hearing the music and story for the first time. I believe music is an ongoing story, and albums don’t always do justice to its dynamic, ongoing nature. What gives it life is the new ears that hear it, and the new hearts that engage with it. I’m so grateful that this is a work that people have kept coming to, and I hope that this presentation does them honor with a fresh offering to the conversation. We’ve known that “it doesn’t have to be like this”; now we can wonder - “what it if were like this?”

Tracklisting:
1. Fill In The Blank
2.
