Record Store Day Drops at David's
You’ll have probably heard by now, but Record Store Day 2020 is not going to look the way it has in years gone by!
In response to COVID-19 the global RSD organisers made the decision to split the day into 3 ‘drop’ dates to spread out the releases and queues.
Saturday 29th August
Saturday 26th September
Saturday 24th October
We’ve been asked a lot about how we’re going to operate on the day, understandably as you all want to make plans!
The answer is : we’re not 100% sure yet! The plan is to operate in as normal a way as possible, if circumstances allow! Yes, that’s annoyingly vague, but as we’ve all seen, the situation with COVID-19 changes frequently, and we might have to adapt nearer the time. We want to celebrate the shop, the releases and our customers as we normally would, but with the current situation, our priority will be to keep customers and staff safe.
This year we have permission from the organisers to list all remaining stock online at 6pm on each drop date. So, if you can’t make it down, don’t feel comfortable or are shielding for any reason, you stand a good chance to get what you want online, either from us or from another friendly independent record shop.
You can really help us with our ordering by letting us know what you’re after! We won’t be stocking every release and knowing what you’re hoping to buy on the day(s) will hugely increase our chances of getting it right and making sure we have plenty of your most wanted releases.
Don’t forget if you don’t ask for it, we might not stock it – so make sure you let us know!
