Due for release 8th November 2024 via UMR
First time on vinyl for this stunning collection of sessions Dusty recorded for the BBC, from 1962 to 1970, originally released on CD in 2007.
More poignantly, these 22 tracks are the session tapes that survived (the BBC recorded over many sessions in the past for cost-saving reasons) and remained in good sound quality. The set includes three tracks recorded in July 1962, as part of The Springfields in a different, more folk-oriented style than her subsequent recordings.
Featured highlights are a selection of her always immaculate covers, including – Stevie Wonder’s Uptight (Everything’s Alright), The Rascals’ Good Lovin’, Jackie Wilson’s R&B stomper Higher and Higher (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me), and the Bee Gees’ classic To Love Somebody.
The other tracks include BBC renditions of some of her biggest hits – Wishin’ and Hopin’, Little by Little, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, Son of a Preacher Man, and I Just Don’t Know What to with Myself.
