St. Vincent’s Todos Nacen Gritando is equal parts labor of love and tribute to the fans who inspired its creation. The three-time GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist cites a handful of her most memorable live experiences, including shows in Mexico, South America and in particular a 2023 appearance at Primavera Barcelona. Though separated by time and geography, and across a diverse range of settings and venues, these crowds were united in their passion—singing every word to every song in perfect English. Inspired by their collective effort and intensity, St. Vincent would find herself pondering, "If they can sing along in a second or third language, why can’t I meet them halfway?” She then enlisted best friend and occasional collaborator Alan Del Rio Ortiz to work on translating All Born Screaming’s lyrics, tweaking here and there for melodic reasons, and ultimately recording new vocals en Espanol for every one of the album's 10 tracks. The result is Todos Nacen Gritando, a reinterpretation that makes every effort to stay true to the original while never sacrificing accuracy.

"The origins of Todos Nacen Gritando can be traced back to some of the most memorable shows I’ve ever played, in Mexico, South America and recently Primavera Barcelona in 2023. Though separated by time and geography, and across a diverse range of settings and venues, these crowds were united in their passion—singing every word to every song in perfect English. It was truly inspiring. Eventually, I asked myself: If they can sing along in a second or third language, why can’t I meet them halfway? So I enlisted my best friend and occasional collaborator Alan Del Rio Ortiz to work on translating these lyrics, tweaking here and there for melodic reasons, making every effort to stay true to the song at hand without sacrificing accuracy. After much rewriting and re-singing every vocal track on the album, the result is Todos Nacen Gritando, equal parts labor of love and tribute to the people who inspired it.”

"El origen de ‘Todos Nacen Gritando’ se remonta a algunos de los conciertos más memorables que he dado, en México, Sudamérica y recientemente Primavera Barcelona en 2023. Aunque separados por el tiempo, geografía, y una amplia gama de escenarios y lugares, estas multitudes estaban unidas por su pasión: cantar cada palabra de cada canción en perfecto inglés. Finalmente, me pregunté: si ellos pueden cantar en un segundo o tercer idioma, ¿por qué yo no puedo esforzarme y así encontrarnos a mitad de camino? Así que recluté a mi mejor amigo y colaborador ocasional Alan Del Rio Ortiz, para trabajar en la traducción de estas letras, adecuando aquí y allá por razones melódicas, haciendo todo lo posible para mantenerse fiel a la canción en cuestión sin sacrificar la precisión. Luego de mucho reescribir y volver a cantar cada pista vocal del álbum, el resultado es ‘Todos Nacen Gritando’, un esfuerzo que lleva partes iguales de amor y homenaje a la gente que lo inspiró”.
